Breathwork is an active meditation using a specific 2-part breathing pattern to connect to your body and vitality, open up space for stagnant old energy and emotions to flow freely, and expand your heart. Most (more like, all) of us are carrying around pain, fear, trauma, and outdated beliefs about ourselves and the world around us, which all live tucked away in our cells. Breathwork is a simple tool that supports us in shedding those heavy weights.
In Chinese 5 phase theory, September is ruled by the earth phase. The earth phase is all about the center -- bringing your energy into that deep quiet pause of groundedness and full alignment, so that everything in your life can flow freely and naturally around you. Other earth qualities include mothering, nourishment, fruition, integration, and integrity; when earth is out of balance, it shows up as worry, obsessive thinking, challenges with nourishing ourselves, challenges with holding appropriate boundaries, and over- or under-serving ourselves and others.

Please wear clothes that are comfortable for you to lie down in. Bring an eye pillow or cover if you like, and a notebook and pen.
