This class, developed for Carriage House Birth doulas, but open to the broader community, will cover the use of herbs in post-partum care. We will discuss different ways to use herbs including, but not limited to, tinctures, teas, and in culinary form. Dr. Maria Geyman is a naturopathic doctor working alongside Carriage House Birth at Grand Street Healing Project. Her practice is trauma-informed with an emphasis on nutrition and herbal medicine in addressing health concerns. While she works with issues ranging from skincare to anxiety to PCOS, she works with women in fertility, through pregnancy, and post-partum. This class seeks to make the use of at home herbal remedies accessible to the Carriage House Community. We will focus on herbs which are safe and easy to use. Prepare for a discussion based class and one in which we will be sampling the herbs as we speak about them.
